As well as being open to visitors at weekends during the summer months, St James also hosts a variety of services during the year as well as events such as poetry readings, art exhibitions and musical events. Forthcoming events at the church are listed below...

Rogation Service & Beating the Bounds May 19th

The Rogation Service at St James is one of the highlights of the Spring. Rogation is an ancient rural service and the congregation can also enjoy a walk round the parish, beating the bounds.

 

Recommended for everyone - with views of the parish many would probably never see. Rogation Service itself is on 19th May 2019.

Join us at 8.45am on 16th September 2018 to celebrate  our special Harvest Communion.

On November 23rd 2019 we are producing a musical and theatrical event based on local author Michael Smith's forthcoming translation of the fourteenth century Alliterative Morte Arthure (publishing 2020). Our last such event, based on Michael's translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, was a huge success and a sell out!  Book your seats here

For many, the Advent Carols Service at the Church is the highlight of the year and this year the service shall be at 4pm on 1st December 2019
