As well as being open to visitors at weekends during the summer months, St James also hosts a variety of services during the year as well as events such as poetry readings, art exhibitions and musical events. Forthcoming events at the church are listed below...

Rogation Service
Sunday May 17th 

The Rogation Service at St James is one of the highlights of the Spring. Rogation is an ancient rural service and on some years the congregation can also enjoy a walk round the parish, beating the bounds.

This year's Rogation Service will take place on Sunday May 17th at 3pm and will be lead by the Archdeacon of Hertford.

Holy Communion, Patronal Service
17th June; 19th July

St James Church offers a beautiful combination of history and atmosphere. 

 

Join us at 8.45am on Sunday 21st June to celebrate Holy Communion.

 

Join us for our own St James' Day service at 3.00pm on Sunday 19th July. This year there will be a special performance by the East Herts Choir, which will transform the atmosphere and make for a truly memorable event.

Harvest Communion September 6th 
Advent Carols
November 29th

St James Church offers a beautiful combination of history and atmosphere. 

 

Join us at 8.45am on Sunday 6th September to celebrate  our special Harvest Communion.

For many, the Advent Carols Service at the Church is the highlight of the year  with its magical candlelit setting which transports the congregation back hundreds of years.

 

This year the service shall be at 4pm on Sunday November 29th and will be taken by the Archdeacon of London.
